Mother's Day
We had my family over on Saturday (before Mother's Day) for a shrimp boil. Here are a few pictures that we took while the food was cooking. As you can see in these pictures, my grandmother is always styling. She still gets her nails done every other week, hair done twice a week and pedicure every 6 weeks. I have never seen her wear a pair of jeans, and I don't think I have ever seen her wear a t-shirt. EVER! Somehow this was not passed onto me, considering my mom MADE me go get a manicure before my wedding. AND even then, I cut my nails before I went. (HEHE)

Soccer
Here is a picture of Luke from the Upward soccer field Saturday. Jud had to ref and we just went to watch. He wore that badge holder around his neck b/c he said it was like daddy's whistle. Maybe he will be playing this time next year! Right now he is just satisfied eating a ring pop on the sidelines!

Life with Gestational Diabetes
A couple of weeks ago I got the call...I have gestational diabetes. I didn't think much of it at first. I just thought oh I will just monitor what I eat. No big deal. Umm...well this whole monitoring what you eat deal is not so easy! Especially when you are pregnant and hungry all the time! I went to the Dr today and I have done good so far. I have tried a few things and found out I can't eat them. It is sort of trial and error with some foods. Mom made some chocolate chip cookies for Mother's Day and I HAD to have one (or 2) and well, there went my number for that meal! Anyhow, all in all it is ok. 10 more weeks!! They test you after you have the baby (I think several mths later) and see if you still have diabetes, or if it went away. Let's pray it goes away, b/c I don't do so well on these diets!
Here is just a picture I took of Luke yesterday. I did something that he thought was funny and I just captured him laughing. I thought I would enjoy him still being young enough to think what I say/do is funny! The other picture is him getting ready to "cut the grass!"
